Privacy Policy
PIS Socials is a closed social app built for students of Podar International School. This page explains, plainly, what happens to your data.
What we collect
- Account info: your email, and whatever name, grade/section, username, bio, and profile photo you choose to add.
- Content you post: photos, videos, captions, comments, and likes — visible to other logged-in students.
- Friend requests and the resulting friends list.
- Direct messages are complete secured and encrypted — readable only by the two people in the conversation.
- Mini-game scores, tied to your account, shown on leaderboards other students can see.
Who can see what
Posts, reels-style videos, comments, likes, profiles, and game leaderboards are visible to any signed-in student — this is a school-only space, not the public internet. Direct messages are private to the two people in that conversation; a small number of school administrators have the technical ability to moderate posted content, but do not read private messages as a matter of course.
How your data is stored
Data is stored in a Supabase database and file storage, protected by row-level security rules that are enforced by the database itself — not just hidden in the app's interface. That means, for example, the database itself refuses to let one student read another student's private messages, regardless of what the app's screens show. Your private chats are end to end encrypted in order to respect your privacy.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your data with advertisers or third parties.
- We don't show ads.
- We don't read your private messages as a matter of routine.
Your choices
You can edit your profile, delete individual posts at any time, and change your password from the Menu. You can also permanently delete your account and all associated data — see "Delete account data" in the Menu. That action removes your profile, posts, comments, likes, friend connections, messages, and game scores from the database, and cannot be undone.
